GPAA: Gold Prospectors to host Gold and Treasure Show in Charlotte May 30-31

Charlotte, N.C. (PRWEB) May 19, 2015

“Gold is where you find it,” and the best place to start looking is at the Gold Prospectors Association of

America
Gold and Treasure Show Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31 at the Metrolina Tradshow Expo, 7100 Statesville Road, Charlotte, N.C. 28269.

One of the most popular attractions at the Gold and Treasure Shows is the complimentary GPAA Gold Panning Zone, where all attendees can experience gold panning using real gold.

“Step up to the troughs at the Gold Panning Zone and enjoy a hands-on gold panning lesson from an experienced gold prospector,” said GPAA President Brandon Johnson. “Our shows allow everyone the chance to pan for real gold, and you can keep what you find!”

More than $ 15,000 worth of prizes, including metal detectors, sluice boxes and gold concentrators, will be given away to lucky ticket holders in the major raffle, sponsored by Summit Mining & Equipment, Inc., Martin Prospecting Equipment, Thermal City Gold Mine, Gold Cube, Gold Magic, Garrett, Felix Paydirt, Keene Engineering, Minelab, Fisher Metal Detectors and the Gold Prospectors Association of America.

For decades, the GPAA has been traveling across the U.S. with some of the most well-known and trusted prospecting and mining equipment dealers, giving people interested in gold prospecting an opportunity to learn about the products that will benefit them the most in the field.

“There’s always something new and exciting to see, with constant advanced innovations in mining equipment, accessories and supplies,” said Johnson, who will attend the Charlotte show. “Dozens of mining equipment vendors and manufacturers are to ready to share their secrets of gold prospecting with you.”

The event will feature prospecting and mining seminars led by seasoned gold prospectors. Topics will include fine gold recovery, local prospecting tips and techniques, metal detecting for beginners and advanced prospectors and gold geology.

Another highlight is the ever-popular Alaska Gold Expedition prize giveaways. Two trips will be given away at each weekend show — one at the end of each day. Each trip is good for one person for two weeks and includes airfare to Nome, Alaska.

“All Gold and Treasure Show attendees over 18 years of age have an opportunity to win this once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable adventure to the home of Alaska Gold Rush. With admission, showgoers are given a raffle ticket for the drawing,” Johnson said.

Winning ticket holders and others who decide to sign up for the Alaska Gold Expedition will visit the GPAA’s famous Cripple River Mining Camp, a popular summer prospecting destination on the shores of the Bering Sea, 12 miles from Nome. The 2,300-acre property and camp offers the best in gold prospecting adventures.

Gold prospecting has become increasingly popular in the last few years with high gold prices. The growing interest in gold is reflected not only in the longest-airing prospecting TV show, “Gold Fever,” but in several gold mining reality TV programs and the all new GPAA-produced show, “Gold Trails” with host Kevin Hoagland who is eager to meet his fans at the Charlotte event.

The Gold and Treasure Show in Charlotte will be hosted by local Matthews NC GPAA Chapter. Local GPAA chapters are often invited by schools, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, other youth groups and organizers of local fairs and community events to demonstrate gold panning and share their knowledge of gold mining history and heritage.

“The shows give GPAA chapter members an opportunity to meet newcomers who are interested in gold prospecting, metal detecting and treasure hunting,” Johnson said. “It’s been our goal to reach out to the young and old to teach them about gold prospecting and show them the love and respect we have for the outdoors.”

Showgoers who feel the gold bug bite are invited to visit the GPAA booth, and join our community for treatment. The GPAA has more than 350 mining claims across the country where members can prospect and mine for their own gold. The gold is yours to find and keep. Those who come down with a bad case of gold fever and want to experience a real mining camp are also invited to stop by the booth to explore what the Lost Dutchman’s Mining Association Camps have to offer. While there is no cure, LDMA mining camps are the best known remedy.

“The GPAA has always been the leader in attracting new people into the world of prospecting,” said Executive Director of Operations Dominic Ricci. “Stop by our booth, and learn how easy it is to get started in finding your own gold. We can get you out on a real prospecting experience. Participate in an outing where you can learn where to prospect, use all kinds of equipment, and recover your own gold.”

The 2015 GPAA Gold and Treasure Shows are open to the public. Admission is $ 10 for at the door for adults, or $ 5 for advance tickets purchased online or from a GPAA host chapter. There is no admission fee for children under 12. Active military and veterans with ID are also admitted free. Jason Alvarez Returns with New Gospel Album, Four Decades After First Topping Worldwide Pop and Dance Charts

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (PRWEB) May 15, 2015

Four decades after first topping album charts worldwide, Pastor Jason Alvarez is back with his brand new solo album, Time For Miracles. The album is available now at Amazon, iTunes and wherever digital music is sold.

The music industry first came to know Jason Alvarez (who briefly went by his birth name Jesus) as the husky voiced singer of R&B act Brother to Brother (whose “In the Bottle” moved over a million copies in 1974), followed by his partnership with singer/songwriter Sylvia Robinson in the groundbreaking group Shirley & Company, who topped the worldwide dance charts with the #1 international hit “Shame Shame Shame” in 1975. That song is commonly considered the early blueprint for the disco explosion that dominated the decade.

“We really were ahead of the curve and it was definitely a pioneering moment, starting with that drum beat, which was so simple, but definitely an innovator for sure the way it was combined with Shirley’s high voice and me screaming my brains out,” says Alvarez with a laugh, who also struck gold with the group’s follow-up hit “Cry Cry Cry.” “We did a ton of touring, especially through Europe, and went on all of the TV programs of the time alongside Mick Jagger, Patti LaBelle and Elton John, which was just as amazing as it sounds.”

With the fame, wealth and pressures of being a superstar came an addiction to drugs that nearly cost Alvarez his life. He recalls sitting on the top floor of a swanky London hotel with a fellow songwriter. “He looked at me, passed me a joint and said ‘is this all there is to life man?’ and that made me start thinking,” admits Alvarez, who in his stoned state experienced a heightened sense of despair. “So I started thinking about taking my own life and even wrote out a suicide letter, but when I looked down from that penthouse window and saw how far it was down, I decided to wait until I got back to the U.S. to do it another way.”

“At one point I bought a pound of opium and tried to kill myself by smoking day and night, but thank God I didn’t succeed. It just so happens that around that time, my wife had given herself to Jesus and started going to church by the grace of God. I remember saying to her one night, ‘are you going to that crazy place?’ and when she said ‘yes,’ I actually asked her if she needed a ride. I dropped her off and sat in the car smoking a Columbian joint, but I felt so bummed out by myself that I eventually walked in. Right then and there, I heard the Gospel and how Jesus died to save us from our sins and I said to my wife ‘have you been talking to this preacher about me?’ She said ‘no, I’ve never mentioned what you’re going through, so it must be the Holy Spirit.’ I responded, gave my life to the Lord and have never been the same since.”

Alvarez soon signed with Christian music label Light Records, with AndraĆ© Crouch collaborator Bill Cole producing his album, Just Give Me Jesus. He started extensively touring with evangelists R.W. Schambach and Nicky Cruz. “I got really turned on to the things of God, so much so that I eventually decided to quit music to preach the gospel and start churches.”

Ordained in 1982, Alvarez currently serves as the pastor of The Love of Jesus Family Church in Orange, New Jersey. While he remains committed to his primary responsibility as a pastor, he’s also committed to taking Time For Miracles to the masses.

Best described as a praise and worship album, Time For Miracles will surprise listeners with its versatility, ranging from acoustic anthems to Gospel grooves. There’s even a guest appearance by fellow church member Kory-O of Sugar Hill Gang fame (the group’s “Rapper’s Delight” scored the rap genre’s first ever Top 40 hit on Billboard Hot 100).

“God’s greatest asset is transparency and He’s not afraid to show who he really is,” says Alvarez. “Nothing in the Bible is hidden, which is why I don’t have a problem sharing each and every dirty detail of my life. My life is amazing now that I’m saved and I hope that being honest about all I’ve been though can potentially help someone else.”

A10 Capital Provides $4.6 Million Non-Recourse Commercial Real Estate Bridge Loan to Fund the Refinance of Two Medical Office Buildings

Boise, ID (PRWEB) May 11, 2015

A10 Capital, a full service nationwide lending business specializing in middle market commercial mortgages announced today that it has funded a $ 4.6 million bridge loan to fund the refinance of two medical office buildings in the Austin, Texas metro area. The commercial mortgage is secured by the two Class B buildings and provided approximately 65% leverage.

John Neff, Principal & EVP of A10 Capital, who structured and closed the loan, said, “The sponsor is an experienced CRE investment firm that focuses on opportunistic real estate properties. They needed a lender willing to work with them on a complex deal structure with many moving parts. Since this property is located in an expanding metro area with huge potential for growth in the medical office sub-market, A10 was able to structure a facility that met the requirements of the borrower.”

Dennis Williams, Managing Director at NorthMarq Capital, who arranged the financing, stated, “A10 Capital did a terrific job with us on a small, complex deal. The loan amount was under $ 5mm on an asset with a major tenant potentially expiring during closing, a ground lease, an appraisal issue and a maturity default with a CMBS lender. Through the entire process A10 was professional, problem solving and proactive in working to meet the borrower’s needs.”

The bridge loan was structured on a non-recourse basis and proceeds were used to fund the refinance of a mature CMBS loan as well as provide committed funds to facilitate the future lease up of the property.
